What is TingTing?
TingTing (听听) is a mobile app for learning Mandarin tones and vocabulary. It covers HSK 1–9 words with natural audio, schedules reviews with FSRS spaced repetition, and adds tone drills and speaking practice so you train your ear and your voice, not just your eyes.
How does the speaking practice work?
You say the word or phrase out loud and TingTing analyses your recording. It shows the pitch contour of your voice next to the reference, and tells you which tones you got right and which need work.
Is TingTing free?
Yes. You can learn, review and play the drills for free with ads. TingTing Pro removes ads and unlocks background audio, a higher speech-analysis allowance and list import.
Which HSK levels are covered?
All six HSK levels, with natural audio for the vocabulary and example sentences.
What is the difference between TingTing and DouDou Chinese 句式?
TingTing focuses on sounds: tones, pronunciation and vocabulary. 句式 (Jushi) focuses on grammar: building sentences with the most essential sentence patterns. They work well together.
